About Me

I’m a thirty-something writer and product manager based around Arizona and Utah.
My background is in journalism:
- My byline has appeared in The Daily Universe, HuffPost, The Brooklyn Paper, Brooklyn Daily and the Deseret News.
- I have a bachelor’s in News Media with minors in Writing & Rhetoric and French.
Bookstacked: I launched and managed an entertainment news publication that covered the Young Adult book industry for nine years.
- Bookstacked’s coverage was cited by these fine folks: Vox, Esquire, The Mary Sue, Screen Rant, Elite Daily, Goodreads, BookRiot, Anchor.fm, Radio Public
- I produced and co-hosted Bookmarked: A YA Book Podcast for eight years and created a limited-series podcast where authors shared their writing journeys.
I’ve been making stuff on the web for a long time
I started building websites when I was 10-years-old (all the way back in 2001) and haven’t really stopped. In 2004, my love for Pokémon drove me to start a Pokémon fansite called Pokémon Sky, which I operated off-and-on for about seven years. During that time, I teamed up with Paul of PokéJungle fame and a few other webmasters to create and run a successful forum called Mt. Moon Community, which brought in thousands of users and generated countless discussions during its ten-year lifespan.
Somewhere around 2008, my interests turned more toward books, which was surely thanks to my love for J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. I contributed to Twilight Source (a website which preceded Andrew Sim’s Hypable) and launched my own website, Brisingr, which became a top destination for fans of Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cycle until its closure in 2011.
In 2013, I created Faction Hub, an online source for Veronica Roth’s Divergent book series. I realized I couldn’t keep making a new website for each book franchise that popped up, so I launched 7th Page (which became Bookstacked) in 2014. We covered the YA industry by writing news, reviewing books, podcasting, interviewing authors and working major publishing houses until 2023.
