A look inside Provo Canyon’s homeless camps

My story package on homelessness in Provo, Utah, was one of the hardest news pieces I’ve written thus far. Not only is it a difficult topic to tackle, but finding the people who are open to talking about it is challenging as well.

Thankfully, I had the opportunity to ride along with a deputy from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. He gave me a first-hand look at some of the abandoned campsites left in Provo Canyon by the local homeless population.
