I’m Leaving.

I’ve been putting this post off for sometime now–partially because I haven’t known exactly how to say it, I guess.

But it’s time to let the few people who actually care know. I’ve been teasing everyone about it for months now on Twitter. Yes, this is what the #Foreshadow tweets are all about.

I’m leaving.

I’ve decided to serve as a full-time missionary for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormon church.) For those of you who don’t know, this means that for the next two years, I will not be attending school. I will not be on the internet. Let me say that again: No internet! No blogging/websites, Twitter, Facebook. No crime fighting. No writing–yes I will not be writing my books; they will be on hold. No movies. No reading. No Harry Potter.

And I won’t be seeing my family or friends during those two years either. I’ll be allowed to call my family on Mother’s Day and Christmas Day. I can send emails to my family and write (by hand) letters to friends.

I’ll be teaching my church’s beliefs–walking around in a white shirt and tie (You know the kind. The kind that’s always showing up at your doorstep!)

Please don’t mistake this for a bad thing. I realize that this sounds brutal (it kind of is.) But while I know that this will be incredibly challenging, I also know that it’s going to be an opportunity for me to grow and gain experience. The more I think and pray about this, the more I know that this is what I need in my life right now.

So why am I putting this on my blog?

I just want to let my few readers/followers know that I’m leaving for two years. It would be weird if one day I just disappeared unannounced.

And so: I’ve been called to serve my mission in the France Paris Mission. I report to the Missionary Training Center on April 6th, 2011. My last day on the internet will probably be a few days before then. You’ll, of course, be hearing from me leading up ’till then.

And before I get asked… 🙂

YES–I am missing Deathly Hallows Part 2 which is so so so so so so so sad for me to think about. NO–I will not “forget all about it” once I’m in Paris (I have the Deathly Hallows symbol scribbled all over my scriptures, there’s no way I’m forgetting.)  NO–I do not know French. I’ll be taught French in the Missionary Training Center (this is usually a two month process.) YES–I will be tweeting, blogging and writing again when I come home!

It’s still a few months before I’m gone, but don’t say you weren’t warned. 😉 Questions/comments? Feel free to leave them. (But please note that my website is not a forum for religious or spiritual debate. I will delete those type of comments.)

I’m nervous, excited and so so so so very happy.

You scribbled the mark of the Deathly Hallows…in your scriptures…? .o.

Your companions will probably either see this as hilarious or blasphemous, or maybe both. XDD
